Jewel-like, triangular, olive-green fronds overlap, one on top of the other, parallel to the ground. The fern forms a dense mound. New leaves in spring emerge bright bronze-pink. Evergreen. This fern has done well in a moist, shady area in our gardens, where it is displayed beside its Canadian sister for comparison. It's still rare in Canadian gardens.
