A clump-forming, bushy, native aster with slender, freely-branched stems and small, linear leaves. White flower heads, to 1/2" across, sometimes shaded pink or blue, are borne in great profusion from late summer to late fall. Although a number of named varieties are now available, this is the native species and should display a good range of diversity. Excellent late flowering aster for the perennial bed or for naturalizing. Also called Farewell-to-Summer or Goodbye Meadow, for its weed suppressing ability. Likes dry soil. (4"-pots)
